Campaign Highlights, January 20-27, 2020

Smiles ruled the day on Thursday, January 23 when Thomasina visited the Statehouse to file her historic candidacy for Indiana's 8th U.S. Congressional District seat. Indiana House District 43 Representative Tonya Pfaff, Indiana NOW President Mandy Renschler Yates, and Professor Shruti Rana were among those on hand to offer congratulations. Celebration continued that evening in Terre Haute, where Thomasina and other guests addressed the Vigo County Democrats "Pasta and Politics" dinner gathering.

Thomasina traveled nearly the entire length of our district on Saturday, Jan. 25, starting the day with Vanderburgh County Democrats at their campaign kickoff in Evansville and ending it with a warm welcome and hearty meal at the Bellmore Fire Department spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

Thomasina enjoyed breakfast with family and friends at VFW Post 2939 in Tell City on Sunday the 26th, followed by worship with the congregation of St. Pius.

On Monday January 27, Indivisible Indiana 8th District hosted a campaign spotlight event in Terre Haute featuring Thomasina, who impressed the crowd with her vision of economic growth, improved access to medical care for rural residents, and educational opportunities for our district. Watch her presentation below!

The 2018 election brought a record number of women to the House of Representatives. Our current Congress has 127 women, an all time high! The freshman class in the House is the youngest and most racially diverse in history. It includes the first Muslim and first Native American women. Several of the new Congresswomen identify as lesbian or bisexual. Some states sent African-American women to the House for the first time, and Texas elected its first Latinas. With your support, 2020 will become the year Indiana adds another strong female voice to Congress. Thomasina was born here, raised here, and stayed here. Her progressive vision, well grounded in Hoosier common sense, makes her the only choice to carry the 8th District into the future while respecting the traditions we hold dear.

Don't miss the chance to enjoy a scrumptious meal and meet Thomasina in person! Come to the Ham and Bean Dinner Fundraiser hosted by Ed Butch and Norma Gammon on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1 PM – 4 PM CDT. This event will be held at S. Katalla Dr, Newburgh, IN 47630. Learn more and R.S.V.P. here:
