"This is why I run." October 26, 2020

The 8th District is Indiana's largest in area, spanning over 7,000 square miles from the wooded hills and covered bridges of Vermillion and Parke Counties to the bustling metropolis of Evansville and historic towns dotting the banks of the Ohio River.

During the past year, Thomasina has driven over 75,000 miles on the campaign trail listening to hundreds of people. She remains grateful to every individual who shared personal stories and tough questions that will make her an even better Representative of the Great 8th.

Thomasina has lived in Indiana her entire life. Born and raised in Spencer County, Thomasina's roots run deep, and she still has many attachments to her childhood home. At age 16, she worked building trails at the Abraham Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Today, she is the first candidate raised in Spencer County to appear on a federal ballot since Lincoln himself!

2020 is a year like no other, and the need for a fresh approach to our representation has never been clearer. Although the challenges we face are daunting, voters have an opportunity to put someone at the table who will fight for us; someone who has no corporate donors to placate and truly cares about the people of Indiana. With her background as a nationally licensed EMT, educator, small business owner, corporate manager, and proud native of southern Indiana, Thomasina is uniquely qualified to meet this extraordinary moment in history.

Because she is one of us, she understands what Indiana needs from a member of Congress:

-honest, fair representation of all Hoosiers

-protection for healthcare and preexisting conditions

-strengthening of our public education system

-steadfast support for Hoosier workers

-advocacy for rural areas that too often get left behind

The Hope in 8 campaign would never have achieved so much without YOU! Help Thomasina get to Washington so she can help us all by doing these things:

Most importantly, VOTE! If you have an absentee ballot, hand deliver it to your county clerk's office before noon on November 3rd.

When voting in person, remember to bring a current Indiana photo ID to your vote site. Note that many counties have modified their polling locations and times due to COVID-19. When in doubt, call your county clerk's office or check online at

Thomasina had another busy week traversing the district on campaign visits. On October 20, she visited Terre Haute for the Vigo County Democrats “Chat with the Chair."

During the weekend of October 24-25, Thomasina joined Lieutenant Governor candidate Linda Lawson and others for the #WINDIANA2020 caravan, which traversed the 8th District from Booneville to Evansville, then northward along the Wabash river through Vincennes, ending in Terre Haute where Thomasina delivered a show-stopping rendition of our national anthem as well as some inspiring words. Watch and listen to her powerful singing voice!

In the 8th District alone, known COVID-19 case numbers increased by over 2,000 during the past week while another 43 of our neighbors lost their lives. Our hearts go out to all victims of this highly contagious disease.

PLEASE remain vigilant.

- Stay home as much as possible, and avoid indoor group settings.

- When you go in public, wear a mask that covers your nose, mouth, and chin.

- Strive to maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance from non-household members.

- Wash your hands often, or use sanitizer.

The Hope in 8 team cares about YOU!

It's been an unforgettable year. Thomasina sends heartfelt gratitude to every person who supports her campaign. Keep the faith, spread the word, and VOTE FOR HOPE!
